Soulland AW12 – “The Hipster-Maistre”

Of course EUROMAN loved the Soulland show – why – because it’s rather (read: extremely) commercial.

Basically the collection is prints on basic sportswear styles. It’s classic man in a young(-er) fashion. Its gentleman robes and pullovers – it’s prêt-a-porter for the hipster youngster (or someone who wants to be).
The only thing I sincerely got aroused about in the collection, was the classic Soulland shoes in silver – LOVE – oh, and of course Eddie Klint (well hallo)!

Velour AW12 – ”The boy gets the girl – but not if he is wearing that pant!”

Guy wakes up in the morning, dresses and go outside. He buyes some flowers, and go over to his booty call…I mean girlfriend.

The Velour AW12 show began with a true love story, but the lovely picture cracked when some of the male models strolled down the runway in flared, tweed-wool pants! Really?! The boy would never get the girl, if he was wearing that! Thank God, the collection had more to offer than the tweed-hell. There were sweat shirts with baseball print and nice printed dresses for the ladies. However Velour has got some way to go, and will still be Acnes geeky little sister, with hopefully grow beautiful.

Gaia AW12 –”Redemption Road”

An organ played in deep tones inside art hall Nikolaj and did apparently make the models hair rise, as well did the hair on my arms. Luckily it was only the music which did that, cause the only thing the clothes did, was making my heart beat. It was just adorable and spot on!

Gaia really redeemed herself since her shaky collection back in August, where her collection absolutely did not have me at ‘Hallo’. But with her smart detailing and comfy clothes, fancy chocker-belts and easy on the eye colors, I joined the Gaia-side.

Edith & Ella AW12 – “Say ‘Hi’ to my Barbie-doll”

Let’s take a trip back to the 70’s, and relive the glory days. Edith and Ella showed 70’s inspired print, jumpsuits, and block colours. To bring the collection up to the pulse, red leopard print was wisely (and most welcome) integrated into the collection.

Additionally, we once again were convinced that silky-fluid pieces go brilliant with heavy-woollen pieces.

In to-to, the show was like pulling pieces out of your toy-chest, and dressing your dear Barbie-doll – read in to it what you want.

Gestuz AW12 – ”Biker Boot Bitches”

The hot rock chicks from Blackout Babies sat the scene for Gestuz’AW12 runway show. And we couldn’t find a more perfect match between clothing and choice of music ourselves. Just perfect!

The duo showed us their winter specialties, where leather is the main ingredient. The pallet consists of the classic black, shades of grey, a dark blue and an olive color. The models were dressed like Lisbeth Salander in loots of leather and biker boots – however they were styled much more feminine, with loose, windy hair wearing RebekkaRebekka jewellery. Next winther I will wear the long Gestuz lace dress and the brown leather jacket that’s for sure! Be aware of the new coming biker biatch!

Samuji AW12 – “Clean me up”

Who would not want to be ’wearing’ a man? According to Samuji, that is exactly what you should the coming season. However, do it in a 40’s New York, minimalistic, balloon-shaped kind a way – does that sound difficult?

Its not – if you fancy the high waist look (as I do), slap on the super-duper-over high-waist pants presented by Samuji, and the oversized coats in felt – I loved it.

Aniv von Borche AW12 -”Symmetry/asymmetry”

The all-black design of Aniv Von Borche emphasizes the sharp, yet classic and modern-edgy silhouettes of his design. The dichotomy between symmetry and asymmetry seemed like the core around which he works.

Aniv Von Borche is a young designer, and is thus still not really unique in his vision of style – however, demonstrates a clear understanding for classic design heritage.
